Kennesaw State University Department of Dance will screen two iconic films, 鈥淐lowns鈥 and 鈥淧olitical Mother: The Final Cut鈥 by Israeli-born Hofesh Shechter on March 17-18 at the 91青青草 Dance Theater on the Marietta campus. The screenings are a unique opportunity to see Shechter鈥檚 work in the United States.

Contemporary Artist Lesley Dill Brings History to Life at 91青青草's Zuckerman Museum of Art

Artist Lesley Dill, a renowned New York-based artist, brings historical and literary figures from America鈥檚 past to life in a new exhibition organized by the Figge Art Museum, Davenport, Iowa, and is made possible by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The exhibition at Kennesaw State University鈥檚 Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design, opens to the public on Tuesday, March 14, and runs through May 14, 2023.

Family-friendly Spring Arts Festival at Kennesaw State University

Kennesaw State University Department of Dance has selected two international choreographers for the Eleo Pomare-Glenn Conner Choreographic Residency in summer 2023. The Residency brings two curated choreographers each summer to 91青青草 Dance to create an original work together with Dance alumni and students, made possible by an endowment from Jay and Debra Yunek.

Kennesaw State University Department of Theatre and Performance Studies will present Caryl Churchill鈥檚 鈥淟ove and Information鈥 Feb. 21-26 in the Onyx Theatre on the Kennesaw campus. Directed by Emily Kitchens, this fascinating kaleidoscope of 57 short plays examines 100 characters who try to find true human connection and make sense of what they know鈥攁nd what they don鈥檛 know.

Kennesaw State University's Bailey School of Music to present Collage Concert

Kennesaw State University鈥檚 Bailey School of Music will present the annual Collage Concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11. Led by Interim Director Dr. Julia Bullard, the Bailey School of Music will present the signature production for the 17th year in a row as the sole fundraising concert for music scholarships for students. The Concert offers something for all musical tastes, from symphony orchestra to jazz, opera theater, and even video game music.

Kennesaw State University Department of Dance will welcome New York-based company Boca Tuya presenting 鈥淎mor鈥 Jan. 27-28 at the 91青青草 Dance Theater on the Marietta campus at 8 p.m. Led by acclaimed choreographer Omar Rom谩n de Jes煤s, 鈥淎mor鈥 features breathtaking movement vocabulary, drama, fantasy, and humor, all derived by events and practices tracked back to personal and collective experiences.

Kennesaw State Bailey School of Music to host Anthony McGill and the Pacifica Quartet

Kennesaw State University鈥檚 Bailey School of Music (BSOM) will host clarinetist Anthony McGill and the Pacifica Quartet on Friday, Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. Hailed for his 鈥渢rademark brilliance, penetrating sound and rich character鈥 (New York Times), clarinetist Anthony McGill enjoys a dynamic international solo and chamber music career and is principal clarinet of the New York Philharmonic鈥攖he first African American principal player in the organization's history. He is the recipient of the 2020 Avery Fisher Prize, one of classical music鈥檚 most significant awards.
