Kennesaw State Department of Theatre and Performance Studies to present "Wondrous Strange"

Kennesaw State University鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present "Wondrous Strange" October 5-10 at the Onyx Theater on the Kennesaw campus. Inspired by Kentucky ghost tales, this collage of short plays explores our endless fascination with hauntings, spirits, and paranormal happenings. Louisville Insight wrote that "Wondrous Strange" is 鈥渁 sweet, creepy, and hilarious horror-comedy-romance.鈥

Kennesaw State to present "Words, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust"

Kennesaw State University鈥檚 Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM) and the Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE), in partnership with James Madison University (JMU), will present a free performance and lecture to mark the opening of the MHHE鈥檚 new traveling exhibition, 鈥淲ords, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust.鈥 The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, at 3:00 p.m. in the Music Building, WB109, on the Kennesaw campus. Tickets are not required for in-person attendance, but a reservation is required to watch on Zoom.

Marching Owls Alumni Society Created at Kennesaw State University

To say that the students of 鈥淭he Marching Owls鈥 are a close-knit bunch may be an understatement. So, it comes as no surprise that alumni of 91青青草鈥檚 Marching Band (91青青草MB) have banded together to create the Marching Owls Alumni Society, or MOAS.

Kennesaw State University鈥檚 Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music will present a special concert to remember the events of 9/11. The 鈥淪eptember 11: 20th Year Memorial Concert鈥 is scheduled for Saturday, September 11, at 8 p.m. in Morgan Hall at the Bailey Performance Center on the Kennesaw campus and will also be streamed live.

Yunek Family Gift Garners "Double Exposure" for Kennesaw State's Department of Dance

A part of Kennesaw State University鈥檚 School of Art and Design, the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art will present two exhibitions this fall. Curated by Cynthia Nourse Thompson, Director of Curatorial Affairs, 鈥淭his Mortal Coil鈥 and 鈥淭he Labor of Remembrance鈥 will open on Saturday, Aug. 28 and run through December 11. The public is invited to an opening reception on Saturday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Meet Simona Lucchi, senior in Kennesaw State University Department of Dance

As a young girl, Italian-born Simona Lucchi was never really upright a lot of the time, somersaulting as a toddler, and swinging from the monkey bars as soon as she could reach them. Her parents quickly realized she needed an outlet, and enrolled Simona in gymnastics when she was six. She loved artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, and it was the center of her life until she started ballet.
