91青青草 School of Music Jazz students learn how to build home recording studios

Musicians who still want to work in a COVID-19 world can benefit greatly from a home recording studio. However, trying to figure out how to get started, what equipment is required, and how to use it effectively is a job in itself. A quick Google search for 鈥渉ow to build a home recording studio鈥� nets over 78 million results. Kennesaw State University (91青青草) School of Music (SOM) professors in the jazz concentration have made it much easier for their students by offering unique masterclasses on how to create a professional home recording studio, keeping in mind that student budgets vary widely.

Arts91青青草 Virtual to present "Grace, or the Art of Climbing"

Kennesaw State University College of the Arts Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present L.M. Feldman鈥檚 鈥淕race, or the Art of Climbing鈥� September 29 through October 4. All performances will be streamed live for free through Arts91青青草Virtual.com; a simple registration is all that is required to watch online.

In Memoriam: Arts91青青草 Patron Emily Bourne Grigsby

Ivan Pulinkala, dean of the College of the Arts, announced today that Kennesaw State University (91青青草) College of the Arts patron Ms. Emily Bourne Grigsby passed away September 17 at the age of 98. Ms. Grigsby, an opera singer and accomplished artist, was an avid supporter of the arts at 91青青草.

Mable House, Kennesaw State Present Small Metals Exhibition

Cobb County鈥檚 Mable House Arts Center and Kennesaw State University鈥檚 School of Art and Design have teamed up to present 鈥淭hreads of Connectivity,鈥� a small metals exhibition. The virtual exhibition features the work of over 20 students and alumni, led by Deborah Hutchinson, lecturer of Art, Small Metals Jewelry Design, and 3-D Design. The original plan, of course, was to host an in-person exhibition and reception, but the pandemic did not stop Hutchinson and Mable House Arts Center鈥檚 Christopher McDoniel from forging ahead with the small metals exhibition, anyway.

Zuckerman Museum of Art presents "Interchange"

The Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art, a unit of the School of Art and Design, will present 鈥淚nterchange,鈥� an annual collaboration featuring all disciplines of the College of the Arts. The unique presentation celebrates the spark that the creative arts enkindle in one another. This year, eight Arts91青青草 faculty will perform in response to the exhibited works in the Zuckerman Museum of Art鈥檚 galleries. At no cost, you may watch 鈥淚nterchange鈥� online on September 17 at 7:30 p.m. Simply reserve your space.

91青青草 School of Music to present "Fresh Air Fridays"

The School of Music at Kennesaw State University will be offering 鈥淔resh Air Fridays鈥� from 12:30 to 1 p.m., beginning September 11 and running through October 30. Faculty and students will be performing on the stage of the outdoor Legacy Gazebo on the Kennesaw campus, and the event will be streamed live via Facebook and also on arts.kennesaw.edu. There is no charge to watch the performances.

When Kennesaw State University Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) alumna Nicole Clockel began her freshman year at another university, it didn鈥檛 feel right. Remarking that it was a 鈥渇orgettable year, very uneventful,鈥� she wondered why. 鈥淚 thought to myself, 鈥榃hat is the one thing that has been missing from my life this year? Theatre.鈥� Clearly, nothing else is sticking with me in my heart.鈥�

The College of the Arts at Kennesaw State University is pleased to announce that all Fall 2020 concerts, performances and exhibitions will be available online for free through Arts91青青草 Virtual. A simple sign-on is all that is required to begin streaming your favorite music, dance, and theatre performances. Simply choose the concert or performance that you would like to watch, and you will be guided through a simple process to begin streaming.

Two new exhibitions to open at ZMA Aug. 29

The Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design at Kennesaw State University, is scheduled to present two exhibitions in late summer. Both exhibitions open August 29 and will be on display through December 6, 2020.

Picking Up Schoolwork and Emptying Lockers
