For many online students, finding hands-on work experience can be a challenge. Dr. Tridib Bandyopadhyay, Director of the Master of Science in Information Systems at Kennesaw State University, seeks to change that.

鈥淚n today鈥檚 rapidly evolving digital landscape, technical skills are essential, but it takes visionary leadership to ensure students are equipped to apply those skills in real-world contexts,鈥 Bandyopadhyay explained.

As part of a continuing initiative to provide valuable practical skills for its exclusively online students, the University鈥檚 MSIS program has partnered with Riipen. The work-based learning platform connects students to real industry projects with the goal of bridging the gap between classroom learning and workplace expectations.

Dr. Gunjan Batra, Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Security, noted how the partnership has already empowered her students to confidently lead tech-driven projects.

鈥淭eams produced professional-quality deliverables such as reports, recommendations, and presentations,鈥 Batra said. 鈥淭hrough this process, students gained exposure to emerging technology challenges while also strengthening their teamwork, communication and presentation skills.鈥
